Sleep Disorders – What Are They, Why Are They Happening and How Auburn SleepMed Can Help Treat Them
Understanding Sleep Disorders
Sleep disorders constitute one of the world’s most prominently rising forms of ailments, yet contribute as only a small percentage of issues that patients seek help from their physicians for. Why is that?
Sleep disorders are usually overlooked by many patients as a “messed up schedule” or getting tired from “getting older”; rather than as actual disorders.
Another reason, and one which prompted us to establish Auburn SleepMed, is the fact that the diagnosis, prognosis and eventual treatment of a sleep disorder takes a considerable amount of time at hospitals and several health care facilities.
Sleep disorders and medical disorders that affects our sleep, daytime function, and overall well-being. Sleep disorders have to be understood, and at Auburn SleepMed, we are dedicated to providing our patients with the best care including diagnosis and treatment of all kinds of sleep problems.
Sleep As A Need, Not As A Want
The human body is configured in a sort of rhythm known as the circadian rhythm whereby, by our being,
there comes a time of day where we need to sleep. It doesn’t come off as a question of want, rather a basic fundamental which is required.
Now, here’s where the misunderstanding is – sleep problems are yet to receive the sort of significance that they warrant as disorders because they are quite often understood as less concerning than say heart attacks.
However, it is worthwhile to mention that if a need of the human body is repressed to an unbearable extent, heart conditions are just the tip of the iceberg. Sleep problems, especially seep apnea, are known to be linked to heart attacks, heart failure, strokes, and worsening of blood pressure.
Auburn SleepMed was created with the sole objective of being a modern facility for a form of disorders that have been so often brushed off by many patients, as well as physicians.
Today, we stand out from such facilities due to our adequate care programs, early diagnosis, and treatment plans. Not only do we operate solely for this cause, we also work in close association with your primary health care physician and other health care providers for the best treatment.
